2017 could be a massive year for these talented actresses 

The future is bright for Hollywood with young talents continually looking more than capable of filling the massive shoes about to be left behind by ageing legends. And 2017 looks set to be another big year for some of Tinseltown’s raw diamonds.

Here are 10 up-and coming actresses you should keep an eye out for in 2017, as you’ll be seeing plenty of them as they:

Katherine Waterstone

Who: Katherine Boyer Waterston.

You may know her from: Her role as Shasta Fay Hepworth in Inherent Vice, or, if you’re a fan of fantastic beasts then you will have seen her alongside Eddie Redmayne as Porpentina ‘Tina’ Goldstein.

Upcoming roles: She’ll be channelling her best Ripley in this year’s most-anticipated sci-fi film, Alien: Covenant.

Fun Fact: She’s the daughter of Oscar-nominated actor Sam Waterston.

Annabelle Wallis 

Who: Annabelle Wallis, 32, British. 

You may know her from: The excellent Peaky Blinders. Wallis played Grace Burgess in the show, stealing both Tommy Shelby and our hearts in the process.

Upcoming roles: She’ll be donning armour alongside Charlie Hunnam in Guy Richie’s King Arthur and then slipping into khaki for The Mummy with Tom Cruise.

Fun Fact: She’s the niece of film legend Richard Harris.

You may know her from: Her role as the tattooed bad girl Stella Carlin in season three of Orange Is The New Black.

Who: Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman, 20, American.

You may know her from: If you watch a lot of Disney shows, then you’ll know her for her roles in Shake It Up and K.C. Undercover.

Upcoming roles: 2017 will be her big break onto the big screen as she’ll star alongside Tom Holland in Spiderman: Homecoming.

Fun Fact: Zendaya means “to give thanks” in the language of Shona.

Who: Elizabeth Debicki, 26, Australian.

You may know her from: Her role as femme fatale Victoria Vinciguerra in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. or Hugh Laurie’s girlfriend and blonde-bombshell Jed Marshall in the award-winning The Night Manager. 

Upcoming roles: She’ll be giving the Starlord and his team something to think about as Ayesha in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Fun Fact: At 1.87 m (6ft 11⁄2ins) tall, Debicki often makes her co-stars look small. 

Sofia Boutella

Who: Sofia Boutella, 34, Algerian.

You may know her from: Playing the blade-legged bad-ass Gazelle in Kingsman: The Secret Service and the just as bad-ass Jaylah in Star Trek Beyond.

Upcoming roles: Boutella will be battling Annebelle Wallis and Tom Cruise as Ahmanet in The Mummy.

Fun Fact: She’s an extremely talented dancer and has featured in music videos for Rihanna, Madonna, Usher, Chris Brown and even Take That. 

Maika Monroe

Who: Dillon Monroe Buckley, 23, American.

You may know her from: She was the controversial choice to replace Mae Whitman as President Whitmore’s daughter, Patricia, in Independence Day: Resurgence and Jay Height in It Follows.

Upcoming roles: She’s going to be in a whopping seven films in 2017! The pick of the bunch include starring alongside JK Simmons in the drama I’m Not Here and Liam Neeson in Felt

Fun Fact: She’s also a professional kiteboarder and used to have her own clothing line called Airbound Apparel.
