5 reasons why we’re excited about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2Starlord is back with the rest of his galaxy-saving crew for the second instalment of the series. Here are a few reasons why we’re excited about the blockbuster
The first film was one of Marvel’s most unexpected successes so far. A film about a team of relatively unknown heroes, set in a galaxy far far away turned out to be a rip-roaring ride of excitement and laughs.
Chris Pratt and the rest of the gang return to the big screen at the end of April to save the galaxy once again, and based on what we’ve seen so far, this could be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2017.
Here are 5 reasons why we’re excited about Guardian of the Galaxy Vol.2, based on what the trailers have shown us so far.
We’re all in agreement that the first film had a pretty awesome soundtrack, and if the trailers are anything to go by, this one is going to be even better. So far we’ve been treated to Fleetwood Mac’s The Chain, Sweet’s Fox on the Run and Come a Little Bit Closer by Jay and the Americans. James Gunn took to Twitter recently to say that while not all of these will make the film, the soundtrack that actually does make it onto film will be “even cooler.“
What made the first film so good is because it didn’t take itself too seriously. How can you with Chris Pratt in the lead role? But it wasn’t just his comical timing that made it work, Dave Batista also excelled, and it looks like more of the same this time.
Look at him. Seriously, just stop what you’re doing and look at that little thing. Coolest tree ever.
It’s a party, and everyone’s invited
The team has been increased with the additions of Yondu (Michael Rooker), Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) adding a new dynamic to the gang, and the decision to cast Kurt Russell as Starlord’s father Ego is a smart move. Expect a few classic one-liners from him.
It’s going to take us one step closer to infinity
While this will be an excellent film in its own right, the story will also take us one step closer to the moment the films have been building up to since 2008 – Avengers: Infinity War. We know already that the Guardians will feature in the movie, and we’re excited to see how this film bridges the gap between the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and the Guardians of the Galaxy.
All we have to say for now is: It’s show time A-HOLES!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 will be out in cinemas worldwide from April 25.
