Scottish DJ Jackmaster gives The Red Bulletin a quick lesson in dance music and reveals his three all-time favourites

Readers of the club music bible Resident Advisor voted Jackmaster fifth in the Top DJs Of 2015 poll, and rightly so.

As a DJ the Scot can make any event – from an underground club night to a corporate party – rock like no one else. Three times a week at the world’s best clubs, jetting between Ibiza, Berlin and his hometown Glasgow with his trusty record bag.

For The Red Bulletin, the 30-year-old picked his three all-time favourite dance music records and explains why everybody should own them.

Joe Smooth – “Promised Land”

“No one can argue with the message on this one. Call it house, pop, gospel, whatever. It’s just such a beautiful song. Always draw for the extended mix!”

Inner City – “Big Fun”

“When Detroit really went to the mainstream, Kevin Sanderson and his Inner City Band with Paris Grey were at the forefront with this, and of course Good Life. The Magic Juan Mix is my favourite.”
