This is the most expensive house in America

This pricey Los Angeles mansion comes with its own helipad, a bowling alleya and a collection of extortionately priced cars. Take the tour below

For most people, buying a house is the single biggest investment of their lives.

But 924 Bel Air Road, Los Angeles, is not a house for most people. Dubbed ‘Billionnaire’ by its designer, the luxury developer Bruce Makowsky, the palatial mansion is on the market at a whopping US$250m (£199m). The quarter-billion price tag makes it the most expensive house in America.

The Bel Air address is one of the city’s most exclusive; previous residents on the road have included Elvis Presley and Alfred Hitchcock.

Included in the price are a $30m car collection, a four-lane bowling alley, a helipad and a “wall of candy” (as Makowsky puts it). But there’s no sign of a utility room or garden shed – clearly money doesn’t buy you everything.

Take a look around the 3,530 square metre, 12-bedroom, 21-bathroom complex in the video below.
