Australia from the air – Down Under never looked so good

Beautiful beaches, breathtaking coastal scenery and plenty of sun - thanks to these stunning images, you’ll get a completely new view of the fascinating landscape of Australia

Photography is a vast and varied art form. Some enthusiasts like to go with a digital tool like an SLR camera while nostalgic snappers might choose Polaroid devices. Then there are other photographers who rely entirely on technology such as Instagram user @gabscanu who prefers to shoot pictures with his drone.

This technophile calls the vibrant city of Sydney home and loves to capture a bird’s-eye view of the beauty and nature in and around the metropolis. How lucky for us that we get to marvel at the results of his passion on the internet. But beware; when you lay eyes on these images, you’re certain to get itchy travel feet.

This Palm Beach is not the famous location in Florida, but a suburb in north Sydney. It’s a hot spot for all the people seeking to escape from the big city but also a place of exceptional beauty.

The picturesque building in this stunning setting is the Barrenjoey Lighthouse, the highlight of the Barronjeoy Headland Peninsula which can only be explored on foot from Palm Beach.

It's good to be back Instagram. Got some big things coming around the corner.

Who knew that a road could also be a real eye-catcher? At least, one that meanders so dreamily along the stunning coastline and around green mountains. It’s no surprise this is such a popular travel destination for campervans in Australia.

Sometimes bathing in the sea Down Under is not without its problems. The strong currents mean attentive lifeguards are constantly on alert. But with famous institutions such as the Bronte Rockpool, beach boys and swimmers are never disappointed. And they look spectacular from the air.

Not only does the legendary Bondi Beach in eastern Sydney have a lot to offer for surfers, but skaters also get their money’s worth. Thanks to this complex on the beach, a cooling dip is never far away after a strenuous session.

The beach. The lifeblood of the people of Sydney. It’s no wonder that this self-proclaimed drones-junkie repeatedly captures sun worshippers. The pure joy of life in pictures.

And of course the surfer dudes can never be forgotten. Hey, after all, this is Australia.
