Lionel Messi wins World Footballer of the Year. Surprise, surprise! Despite the obvious nature of the news it will still dominate the back pages of papers around the world. Here are some other obvious and unnecessary headlines we’ll probably be bombarded with over the course of the year    

Lionel Messi is considered by many as the best footballer in the world. After losing out to major rival Cristiano Ronaldo over the last two years, Messi is considered a shoo-in to win this year’s Ballon d’Or.  “Lionel Messi wins Ballon d’Or” – this will be the title on the back pages of every newspaper around the world.
