fantastic Four

The Best of The Worst

It’s time to award the best of the worst in Hollywood, and here’s who we have our money on

It’s that time of year again, when the critics and people in the know begin to the look at the year in film and nominate the best, and worst films. While the Oscars reward greatness, the Razzie’s (The Golden Rasberry) remind us that even Oscar winners are not immune to the odd slip up every now and again. Two of this year’s nominees even picked up an Oscar in 2015, but find themselves on the other end of the scales in 2016.

So who will have the honour of receiving these sought-after awards come February? Here are our favourites.

WORST PICTURE

Fantastic Four
, Fifty Shades of Grey
, Jupiter Ascending,
Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2
, Pixels

AND THE WINNER IS…

Fantastic Four

Off-screen chaos, an unhappy cast and a complete lack of coherance between director Josh Trank and the studio (Fox) regarding the direction of the film. A substantial amount of the movie had to re-filmed because of this, leading to some major continuity issues, and Trank openly stating that his version would have been much better.

WORST ACTOR

Johnny Depp, Mortdecai, Jamie Dornan, Fifty Shades of Grey, Kevin James, Paul Blart Mall Cop 2, Adam Sandler, The Cobbler and Pixels, Channing Tatum, Jupiter Ascending

AND THE WINNER IS…

Johnny Depp

It would be the crowning moment of a painful fall from grace.

WORST ACTRESS

Katherine Heigl, Home Sweet Hell, Dakota Johnson, Fifty Shades of Grey, Mila Kunis, Jupiter Ascending, Jennifer Lopez, The Boy Next Door, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mortdecai

AND THE WINNER IS…

Gwyneth Paltrow

This one is a tough one. To be honest; they all deserve the award. We’re going to go with Paltrow, simply to keep Depp company.

Best thing about the whole film?

WORST SUPPORTING ACTOR

Chevy Chase, Hot Tub Time Machine 2 and Vacation, Josh Gad, Pixels and The Wedding Ringer, Kevin James, Pixels, Jason Lee, Alvin & The Chipmunks: Road Chip, Eddie Redmayne, Jupiter Ascending

AND THE WINNER IS…

Eddie Redmayne

To go from Oscar winner to Razzie nominee within a year is quite a feat. It could have even been the same year if the film had kept its original release date (July 2014). With respect to Redmayne, he’s already redeeming himself with some stellar performances, and we’re sure he’ll think twice before accepting another role like this, but an over-the-top attempt at divinity of this stature can never be forgiven, or forgotten.

WORST SUPPORTING ACTRESS

Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Alvin & The Chipmunks: Road Chip and The Wedding Ringer, Rooney Mara, Pan, Michelle Monaghan, Pixels, Julianne Moore, Seventh Son, Amanda Seyfried, Love the Coopers and Pan

AND THE WINNER IS…

Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting

Kaley takes it, simply on the basis of her questionable career choices.
