How’s this for square footage? New York-based artist Tom Yoo pays homage to iconic footwear by recreating them with toy bricks.

Finally, a LEGO brick that won’t hurt when you tread on it. However, these trainers, the brainchild of New York-based artist Tom Yoo, are purely for display.

“Arguably the greatest sneaker of all time” rendered in LEGO. It won’t keep your feet dry, but at least it looks cool.

Yoo gained attention last year with a series of 3D models of classic Nike Air Jordan shoes. Take a look at his superbly-detailed LEGO model of the Nike Air Jordan XI, something he dubs “arguably the greatest sneaker of all time” over on his LEGO ideas page

Now Yoo has created more 3D models of legendary pieces of footwear, including two further pairs of Air Jordans and a homage to adidas’s design classic, the Stan Smith.

If you want to own a Yoo original for yourself, a range of Air Jordans are available to buy on his website. These aren’t your average out-of-the-box LEGO kits, of course, so don’t brick it when you see the $2,000 (£1,400) price tag.

Check out more amazing LEGO creations and cool imagery over on his Instagram @tomyoo23.

The coolest shoes on the block: LEGO Stan Smiths.

Yoo’s latest Air Jordans come in red or blue colourways.
