Glasgow On Fire

The frenzied crowd, the Buckie, the man-sized teddy bear. The best pics and all the madness from Jackmaster’s birthday bash on home turf in Glasgow

Jack Revill, aka Jackmaster is one of the most sought-after underground DJs on the planet – he came fifth in club music bible Resident Advisor’s Top DJs Of 2015 poll – and is behind the decks three times a week at the world’s hottest clubs, jetting between Ibiza, Berlin and his hometown Glasgow with his trusty record bag.

Since 2006, the rough-voiced DJ with the quiff has been bringing local talent from Glasgow to the world via his record labels. As a DJ he can make any event – from an underground club night to a corporate party – rock like no one else.

To celebrate his 30th birthday in January, Jackmaster hired SWG3, one of the biggest venues in the city, and invited well-known fellow DJs including Skream, Eats Everything and Oneman to join him on stage. Local newspaper The Evening Times billed the night as “a riot of epic proportions”. The Red Bulletin was there to witness the madness.

The party kicked off around 5PM, two hours later – in Glasgow’s living rooms the evening’s prime time viewing hadn’t even begun – it was already wilder than it would be at a rave in Berlin

On the circuit, Jackmaster is seen as a people’s DJ. His music collection has something for everyone and he loves to get close to the crowd

Early on Sunday evening, the party’s already in full swing
