As the YouTube chefs prepare to star in a new documentary, we ask them to select their top five recipes. Warning: contains beetroot!

SORTEDfood is a 14-strong culinary collective on a mission to create the greatest cooking show the internet has ever seen.

Ben, Barry, Jamie, Mike, James, Katie, Rachel, Ed, Hannah, Clare, Jon, Ray, Josh and Dan broadcast two editions of The FridgeCam Show on Wednesdays and Sundays at 4pm GMT.

Creativity in the kitchen has earned them a strong following. At the time of writing they have nearly two million subscribers on YouTube. They’re also set to star in Kings Of Content, a documentary about the internet’s most innovative creators, alongside inventor Colin Furze, trials rider Danny MacAskill, musician Emma Blackery and more.

The Red Bulletin asked them to choose their five greatest dishes, and what they’d serve to their fellow Kings Of Content stars.

What is it?
Gorgeously tender beef short ribs, cooked in a rich Guinness stew and served in a Guinness soda bread bowl.

What inspired it?
This was made for a St Patrick’s Day special, so we tried to get as much Guinness in it as possible!

How do people react when they taste it?
First of all, the serving of it looks fantastic – then, they bite into it and are blown away by the amount of flavour from the rich stew and the tenderness of the beef.

2. Chocolate and Beetroot Brownies

What is it?
Brownies are one of our favourite chocolatey treats, but we’ve managed to make them even better by adding a secret ingredient – beetroot!

What inspired it?
Ben’s always had a thing for putting vegetables in places where they don’t belong, and someone in our community told us that beetroot worked really well with chocolate, so we gave it a try, and they were right!

How do people react when they taste it?
We generally don’t tell people that is has beetroot in it until after their initial, “Yum, delicious” reaction. Then there’s the biggest look of surprise imaginable.

You won’t be able to eat just one slice of this

3. Peanut Butter and Jelly Chocolate Tart

What is it?
It’s a peanut butter and jam chocolate tart, so we win at life. Also, it has peanut sugar shards in. You won’t be able to eat just one slice of this.

What inspired it?
This basically combines everything that Mike holds sacred in his life.

How do people react when they taste it?
I mean, just look at it – it looks like the perfect chocolate tart and then you bite into it and wowser, there’s a PB and J sandwich in there!

4. Orange Chicken

What is it?
This one is a real Saturday night takeaway favourite. It’s chunks of tangy, crispy fried chicken in a spicy and sweet-sticky-orange sauce. Don’t forget to plate up with steaming rice and scatter some sesame seeds over the top.

What inspired it?
The idea came straight from a community request – how could we recreate takeaway favourites at home?

How do people react when they taste it?
Everyone loves the tang of the orange and the kick from the chilli. Plus the texture of the chicken is spot on.

5. Breakfast Poutine

What is it?
By combining poutine (fries, cheese curds and gravy) with breakfast, we think we’ve made the ultimate comfort food dish.

What inspired it?
We cooked this for one of our Canadian YouTuber friends, Estée Lalonde. Breakfast and poutine are two of her favourite things.

How do people react when they taste it?
After a nervy couple of seconds watching her eat it, Estée seemed to love it – she even brought some of her dad’s homemade maple syrup to finish it off.
