The Davis Cup, otherwise known as the world cup of tennis, heads to Glasgow’s Emirates Arena for Great Britain’s first-round tie against the USA. Team GB’s Andy Murray will be on home soil (well, whichever surface the host side chooses) for the knock-out clash, which all-but guarantees an electric atmosphere at the stadium. The victor of this head-to-head will progress to the quarter-finals to face either France or Germany. daviscup.com

After a two-year wait, DJ Yoda is back with a new album that celebrates the old. Though it’s impossible to get the eclectic king of sampling to stick to one musical genre, Breakfast Of Champions is in large part a homage to the golden era of ’90s UK hip-hop. Yoda, aka Duncan Beiny, has scoured the land to assemble an 11-strong live band to accompany him on an eight-date UK tour, which includes London’s Forum. djyoda.co.uk
Monuments around the world, from the White House fountain, to the Eiffel Tower, have gone green for St Patrick’s Day. Though you can celebrate all things Irish pretty much anywhere in the world, there’s no better place to be than Ireland, and Dublin does it bigger than anywhere, with four days of festivities. stpatricksfestival.ie
At Over The Top, a military-style 5km or 10km slog through Surrey, one thing is guaranteed: there will be mud. Add obstacles like deep trenches, a freezing lake and even fire, and it’s not your usual Sunday afternoon stroll. But to the victors go the spoils: bragging rights and a hot shower. It’s all change for British Touring Car racer Andrew Jordan for the start of the 2015 season. The 25-year-old has secured a lead place with the works MG Triple Eight team, which bodes well for his title hopes: the team won the manufacturer’s trophy in 2014. It could give the Sutton Coldfield-born racer the boost he needs to overtake serious on-track competition, not least last year’s champ Colin Turkington, add to his BTCC win count of 14 and retake the title he won in 2013.
