Some tennis legends have only won Wimbledon once. Can you name these one-time grass court Grand Slam champions?

Andy Murray enjoyed a great build up to Wimbledon this year. He won the Rome Masters on clay, reached the French Open Final and triumphed at Queens for a record fifth time. Now fans are hoping that he can beat Novak Djokovic and win a second Grand Slam title on Centre Court.

Even if he doesn’t manage it again, he’s in good company. Some legends of the game have ‘only’ won Wimbledon once; these are stars who have been world number one and even won career Grand Slams.

After all, it’s not as though it’s easy. We had to wait 77 years for a British male winner, and we’re currently at 39 since a woman from the UK lifted the famous plate. Another final defeat and Murray will edge closer to coach Ivan Lendl’s record of 11 Grand Slam losses. Could be worse – Chris Evert lost 17 finals!

Did you know that? If so, you stand a good chance of getting top marks in our Wimbledon quiz. All you have to do is name these ten tennis players. Like Murray, they’ve all won Wimbledon once.
