Improve Your Netflix Experience

Want to get the most out of your Netflix viewing pleasure? Here are a few tips and tricks to make your Netflix binge-watching better than ever.

Find out exactly what is on

We’ve all done it – you want to avoid the cold, dark winter weather by settling in for a Netflix binge-watching session, but you can’t find anything you want to watch. Instead of spending hours sifting through the search options, try this website. The search engine on allows you to really narrow down your search based on tastes and mood. Looking for a film to entertain a child between the age of 2 to 4? Or an independent crime drama from the 80s? Then this is where to go.

Simply log in to Netflix, click on the type of genre you’re interested in and it will bring up a list of all of the films available to you in that genre. You won’t always get a result, as it depends on what films and shows are available in your country, but you will be surprised with the amount of content on there that you had no idea about.

Eddie Murphy

Feeling those Eddie Murphy vibes? Click on the link “comedies starring Eddie Murphy” to see exactly what films are on offer and watch to your heart’s content.

Netflix Enhancer

Want to have all the information you need in one click on your browser? Then try the Netflix enhancer add-on for Chrome. The app provides pop-up IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes reviews so you can sort the good from the bad without having to go on other websites, while also providing trailers to make your life easier.

Customize subtitles

Subtitles on Netflix can be a lifesaver, whether it is to help you enjoy the best foreign cinema has to offer, or simply making sure you don’t miss any key plot twists while you watch your shows as quietly as possible to try and not wake your girlfriend in the middle of the night. But you don’t simply have to make do with the normal run-of-the-mill subtitles. By going to Your Account > Your Profile > Subtitle Appearance you can make sure those lines of text look as classy as the film you’re watching.

Netflix Socks

Yes, you read it correctly, Netflix socks. Thanks to this gadget/fashion item you will no longer binge-watch yourself to sleep, only to wake up in the realization that you’ve missed the most important part of the show. How? Netflix socks detect when you’ve dozed off and send a signal to your TV, automatically pausing your show. Now we just need them to invent a Netflix parent who can carry you off to bed and brush your teeth for you as well.
