It’s end of year list time, when we get so see what you all loved and listened to over the course of the last twelve months. Spotify recently released their annual lists, revealing its most streamed artists, albums and songs of the year 2016. Check out the image below to see who came out on top.

Drake’s Year

As you can see, it was quite a year for Drake, who dominated with the most streams for single “One Dance“ and album Views. Drake was also the most-streamed artist of the year, with over 4.7 billion global streams, which was more than twice as much as 2015. It also makes him the most-streamed artist EVER on Spotify, with over 8.7 billion streams worldwide.

Having sold out arenas with the girl group 2NE1 in her home country of South Korea, the 25-year-old singer is now aiming for global pop stardom. And with the help of talent manager Scooter Braun, who has famously pushed the careers of Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, that goals seems to be within reach.

Most streamed tracks of 2016

“One Dance“ wrote history this year. With more than 970 million streams, Drake’s track took the title of most-streamed tune of all time, beating the previous holder “Lean On” by Major Lazer (ft. Mø und DJ Snake) and with it of course the title of most-streamed track of the year.
