Tom Bilyeu wakes up naturally between 3 and 4 a.m. every day. What he does next is why he founded a billion-dollar company and you didn’t.

A self-proclaimed “King of the Nerds” in high school, Tom Bilyeu wanted to become a stand-up comic. He worked on bits at home, the high school cafeteria and, eventually, comedy clubs around L.A.. But when he saw the legendary Mitch Hedberg perform, he thought: “I’m never going to dedicate myself to being that level of funny.” Instead, he dedicated himself to building successful companies.

His healthy nutrition bar company, Quest, went from small startup to a billion-dollar company at a rapid pace. Along the way he developed an approach to work and life that sought to maximize every hour of his day. As host of the Impact Theory podcast, he interviews top names in the business and cultural world, unlocking secrets he hopes will empower his audience to live their own dreams. So we turned the tables on him and invited him to The Red Bulletin podcast to talk company, dedication, and besting your own, lazy self.
