Freshen up your vinyl

So you want to keep your old classics and new purchases in perfect condition? Here are a few tips and tricks.

The washing machine

Spin Clean is a plastic tub with brushes on the inside. Fill it with cleaning solution and water, turn the records clockwise then let them dry. Voila, sparkling clean vinyl.

The Pistol

Shoot your vinyl where it matters with the positive and negative ions in the Milty Zerostat gun. This tool electrostatically neutralizes the surface of the record, and the dust just drops off.

The Home Remedy

Apply a thick layer of wood glue evenly in the grooves with a spatula. Then let it dry and slowly peel off the film of dust-coated plasticky glue.

Vinyl to USB

With Ion Audio’s iLP USB-compatible record-player you can copy LPs straight to your iPhone without a computer. Just plug it in and put the platter on.

RIP IT UP

People with aging hi-fi gear should fork out for a USB phono preamp like the ADL GT-40 to rip high-quality digital files from their records.
