Fencing’s biggest personality is convinced he’s what it takes to take the sport into the mainstream. What defeat, and the Olympics have taught him.

Miles Chamley-Watson doesn’t so much walk into a room, as bounce. A lean 6’4” and covered in tattoos, he’s got a golden retriever’s energy and desire to please. America’s top fencer is similarly passionate on the strip where he competes.

Chamley-Watson has become one of the world’s biggest fencing talents, adding a bronze medal from the Rio Olympics to his 2013 world champion’s medal in the foil category. As he enters the prime of his career, the New Yorker by way of London has bigger ambitions in mind: to push his sport mainstream. He stopped by the podcast to recap his wild ride at the Rio Olympics this past Summer, and his plans for world domination.
