TAG HEUER AND MANCHESTER UNITED: THE CHRONOGRAPH PREMIER LEAGUE
Gisbert L. Brunner has been writing about watches and chronometry since 1981.
“TAG Heuer and Manchester United are perfect together because there are many values we have in common,” declared Jean-Claude Biver on February 8, 2017. And he made the declaration at Old Trafford, the home of the venerable English side, the occasion being the announcement of a partnership between the football team and the watchmaker.
The CEO continued, “This partnership with Manchester United underscores TAG Heuer’s serious and significant commitment to football. We are all very proud and are happy that it will raise the profile of our brand in Asia long-term. Manchester United is one of the best-loved brands there.”
As always, Jean-Claude Biver doesn’t want to – and won’t – just leave it at signing a contract. “TAG Heuer always aims to achieve a 360° partnership. We won’t limit ourselves to being advertised in the ground as the official timekeeper. Our aim is to host joint events. Here we are launching wristwatches together that TAG Heuer has designed especially for the club. So there is no limit to the scope of what we’re willing to do together.”
Club captain Wayne Rooney and teammates Zlatan Ibrahimovic, David De Gea and Ander Herrera stepped up to the plate to ensure a rousing start to the partnership. The top players unveiled two wristwatches that Man United fans can wear to show their commitment to the team.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-01 Calibre Manufacture Chronograph Manchester United Special Edition represents the upper class of chronographs. It is water-resistant to 10 bar. TAG Heuer has created a ceramic bezel, meaning it’s scratchproof, guaranteed. There are 1,000 samples of this individually numbered limited edition. It retails for €5,650.
