I recently wrote about the MP05 LaFerrari Sapphire by Hublot.
Only 50 have been made and they are selling for €520,000 a piece.
But you can now have the Hublot Big Bang Unico Sapphire for approximately a tenth of that price.
To create the transparent shell of the watch, the factory worked with a suitably experienced specialist manufacturer in Switzerland. It was a considerable challenge, as CEO Ricardo Guadalupe revealed to me at the launch in December 2015. “Never before had such large and complex sapphire components been shaped and processed for such a watch case. We at Hublot are very proud to have achieved such a feat with our partner.”
There will be a total of 500 samples of this newcomer watch, which Hublot will unveil at Baselworld 2016. Each wristwatch with the in-house Unico calibre costs €57,100.
